DAY 7 IN BRISBANE!

Sunday, Feb 13th:

Today we (me & boys) went to some office shop and printed out about 900 A4 copies of pictures of angus & julia stone, because they were going to prank this girl they knew from before by sticking them ALL OVER her room for when she moves in. So funny! :D

Also the fire alarm went off today, 3rd time since i got to campus. Was so funny, because we had to evacuate our block and the boys grabbed beers on their way out. Sat outside drinking beer while the alarm went :D Did i mention living here is SO much fun ?? 

Was supposed to meet Caroline today as well, but the bus never came and it did not happen. Ended up helping the boys hang up the pictures in the girls' room instead. It looked so cool! :D

DAY 6 IN BRISBANE!

Saturday, Feb 12th:


Woke up and the first thing going through my head was the lyrics to a snoop dog song..God knows why?! Also felt like absolute shit because of the rum & coke the night before. Drinking + the heat = not good.Haha!..Got up, watched south park and later we went to IKEA..Me, the boys and our new roomie from China. Bought some bits and bobs for my room, i should of bought more but when i got into the shop i went blank. When we were just about to leave the car would not start so we had to wait for a car to come and help fix the car. Turns out some wire had jumped off or something. Went home after the car got fixed. Had a looooooovely dinner made by Lin (the really cool and nice chinese flat mate), met up with Caroline and she came back to our flat and had some dinner as well. After a couple of hours just talking and talking, Caroline went home and just ended up chilling the rest of the night i think..

Totally confused about the days, some of the days might be totally wrong..Haha!

DAY 3, 4 & 5 IN BRISBANE!

Day 3: Wednesday (Feb 9th)

Today i went to The Hub to get some questions answered about rent, telephone, mail and some other stuff. When i got back to the flat i slept most of the day and skyped with Mum and Rach.

Started watching Toy Story & Modern Family..

Day 4: Thursday (Feb 10th)


This day was probably one of the worst days ever. It felt like all the depression from leaving norway, family and leaving everything i know came at once. Skyped with family, went out to get my student card and it didn't help me that the lady who was "helping" me was being a total bitch towards me. Went home (with no student card) and cried my eyes out. Got pissed off, went back to get my student card. This time i had a really nice lady helping me :) Went back home and enrolled in my classes, only one was full, but got that fixed. Will be doing - Photoimaging: Ideas in practice 1, Photographic Practice 1A, Modernism and post-modernism and Digital imaging this semester :D

Fire alarm went off today, told us to get out. Was a fire in D block i think..

Day 5: Friday (Feb 11th)


Today i met Caroline for the first time. We met up, got something to drink back at my flat and then went to got some info for her since she had not got any from Griffith. Was the first time walked through the whole campus as well..So big! Went grocery shopping with the boys and the new flat mate, had fish & chips, watched youtube clips the rest of the night..

DAY 1&2 IN BRISBANE: No Internet, roomies and sleeping.

DAY 1:

Arrived at campus around 11'ish, checked in and had a lovely lady show me around my flat where i will be living with 6 other people. When i moved in i could see that two people had already moved in. I don't think they were in the flat at the time. After about an hour in the flat, washed & cleaned, unpacked and so on i met one of the people i live with. An australian guy..Also met the other guy (another aussie) later on..

They both seemed like really cool and nice people :)

Later on i think i went into my room and slept for some hours i think..Can't really remember :P

I think maybe we drove to the shops later that day, not sure..I think so! Bought some grub and drinks. One of the guys made dinner, was nice. Had some drunk people over, not nice. Ehm..talked..was knackered..went to bed..Yeah, that was my first day in Australia :D

DAY 2:

I think this day i slept, cried, skyped A LOT!..Don't think i went out that much, prob just to hand in some papers, not sure..I did not eat that much this day. Too hot to eat! Went to the shops, skyped with my lil sis..both started crying when we said hello..Haha! :D

My room...

OSLO --> BRISBANE

Got up early February 5th, was running around like a headless chicken trying to remember what to pack and not to forget anything. We (Me & my family) left the house around 15:00, this was so hard to do because we might be selling the house before i get back to Norway and we have lived there for 13 years. Through out the morning i was crying all the time, so much it actually started to annoy the hell out of me. Haha!

Got to the airport, cried like i've never cried before. One of the toughest things i've done, to say bye to the family not knowing when you are going to see them again..in 1 year or 3 years? Got to my gate and just waited for the plane. Cried when the plane took off from Oslo.

 

2 hours something on the plane to Frankfurt, got two free drinks and a pretzel (Did not eat, looked well nasty haha) from a lady who looked like a chewed up toffee left in a sun bed for 16 hours...

When i got to Frankfurt (been there once before) we got off the plane, into a bus, then i got lost so i ganged up with two norwegian boys going to Gold Coast, took a train to the right terminal, tried to find Air Etihad check in, took ages, checked in and got to terminal just on time..Frankfurt airport is waaaay to big!

This time the plane was packed and was going to take 6-7 hours to Abu Dhabi. Met some strange people on the plane, tried to sleep, did not sleep, had some strange food, tried to watch TV.

When we got off the plane in Abu Dhabi the sun was just popping up (aka sunrise lol) and there was sand all over the place (again, desert). Tried to take a pic but we were rushed to a bus that took us to the terminal. I was lost again, so i started walking around with this norwegian girl who was going to Sydney. Our flight wasn't up on the screen so we had to go and ask someone where we had to go. Found out where, went to bathroom to brush teeth and change clothes, waited for plane and tried not to fall asleep at the gate (Hadn't slept at all since Norway!). 

Abu Dhabi

Got on the plane after waiting for an hour or so, this time it was going to take about 6 hours again( ..i think) to Singapore. I tried sleeping with no luck, ended up watching Megamind and some other stuff, and eating..Felt like we were being fed ALL the time! After about 6'ish hours we were about to land in Singapore, but on our way down they said on the speaker that if you are caught with drugs you might be sentenced to death...Did not have drugs on me (Of course), but was scared incase someone had planted it on my lol..scary!! 

Got to Singapore with no problem, had to get of the plane and wait 40 min to get back on. Waited, went through security check again and got on the plane. This time i managed to sleep about 2-3 hours i think, because my TV was busted and i had nothing better to do, plus i was knackered! Met two girls (Sisters, bout my age) who were sitting next to me on the plane from Abu Dhabi to Brisbane. They were really nice and we exchanged emails :) Just can't find the piece of paper where i wrote it down on now :S

Singapore

We got to Brisbane about 7 hours later, there was almost no one in the airport so it went really quickly to get through passport control, baggage claim, customs and so on. The people there were really funny and nice :) One guy who checked my declaration card asked me what the best thing to come out of Norway was, i was tired and confused so i said "Snow?" lol..He said with a thick aussie accent "No, wrong answer, its you!"..Haha! 

Had to wait for my driver because of traffic for about 10-15 min, but when he came we walked out of the airport and it was soooo hot! Kinda felt like a hot summers day in Spain.. I don't know what it was, but the minute i got into the car i just started yakking and yakking with the driver..Over tired, maybe? First we dropped off another student at a homestay, then we drove right next to the Brisbane river on our way to my campus. 

Got to my campus and the driver helped me to the Hub to check in. Will write about my first day in another post, because this one is getting quite long. Will be posting a lot more stuff soon :)

NOW IN BRISBANE!

Right this is the end of my second day in brisbane..I have been trying to catch up on sleep and have not had internet until today..Will post up more, but just getting back on, so i have loads to do :P

Trying to upload stuff on FB, skyping with family right now :)

Will post the lost days too, before i left soon.

4 DAYS LEFT! - Blah!

Today i felt like absolute SHIIIIIT!
Didn't do much at all today. I'll i did was chill, watch tv and enjoy my time with my mum and sister. Don't think i have any pictures from this day..We also had someone over today..Can't say much about that..Haha!

Found some! I think its from this day :P

Mum and Rachel came home with starbucks drinks they found in the shops on their way home from cleaning her classroom again.
